Description:The North East Area Labor Council is a coalition representing more than 40,000 workers. Its affiliates include the Iron Range Labor Assembly, the Duluth Central Labor Body, the Carlton County Central Labor Body, Koochiching Labor Assembly, and Minnesota AFL-CIO affiliates in Northeastern Minnesota.
The Labor Council’s goal is to constantly and consistently enhance the mobilization efforts of the labor movement in Northeastern Minnesota to better the lives of working people.
To accomplish this mission, the Council works to:
- Build a broad movement of Minnesota workers by helping workers join and form unions.
- Support Minnesota workers as they bargain with employers to improve their living conditions and workplaces, as well as their communities, state and nation.
- Strengthen the voice of Minnesota working families at all levels of government and in a changing global economy.
North East Area Labor Council serves the Northland, Arrowhead, Duluth MN Superior WI MSA, Aitkin, Carlton, Cook, Douglas, Itasca, Koochiching, Lake, and St. Louis county areas.
