Description:The International Falls Area Chamber of Commerce is the cornerstone of this vibrant and beautiful community. The Chamber is passionate about its goal of promoting a healthy community in which individuals, families, and businesses can flourish. The people of International Falls are proud to live and work in an area characterized by friendly people, low crime rates, breathtaking natural scenery and abundant year-round recreational opportunities.
Mission Statement The International Falls Area Chamber of Commerce is a business organization, which seeks to provide a long range unifying vision for our community, and advocates the retention and expansion of jobs.
Goals:
Each year during the boards annual retreat, they set goals that fall within our mission statement. Under each goal is a list of action items need to be performed in order to accomplish the goal. The board then appoints sub-committees comprised of Chamber board members and employees of Chamber member businesses, to ensure these goals are accomplished. Being a Chamber member allows you to be a part of these sub committees. The goals for fiscal year 2007-08 are:
Economic Development and Business Retention:
Goal: The Chamber will lead International Falls in business expansion and retention efforts. We will work with them and serve as a conduit to both private and public sectors for resources. We will promote business opportunities through Brown Bag Luncheons, business products and educational seminars.
Public Policy :
Goal: Public Policy will pay close attention, influence, and be involved in, local government, school district, and health care issues. We will advocte on the city, county state and federal levels and be more proactive in taking positions on issues.
International Falls Area Chamber of Commerce serves the Northland, Arrowhead, and Koochiching county areas.
