Duluth (2006 pop. est. 84,167) is an international seaport on the southwestern tip of Lake Superior. Located halfway between Minneapolis-St. Paul and the Canadian border, Duluth is a shipping, commercial and manufacturing center. Major industries include health care, aviation, technology and tourism.

The city is half of the Twin Ports, joining with Superior, Wis., for a combined population of more than 112,000 people. It features an international airport, top-rated convention center, outstanding cultural and recreational amenities, progressive health care, college and university campuses, and award-winning schools.
