Quality of Life

Douglas County, Wis. has an abundance of natural and cultural amenities that enrich the lives of residents. Recreational opportunities in the Superior Municipal Forest (the second largest municipal forest in the United States) and along the shore and in the waters of Lake Superior are almost endless. The City of Superior has developed waterfront trails, parks and amenities that attract many visitors. The Richard I. Bong World War II Heritage Center and the Fairlawn Museum are two popular attractions.

Douglas County's educational and health care systems are excellent, with modern facilities and acclaimed programming.
