Infrastructure
Douglas County, Wis., has the infrastructure you would expect to find in a transportation hub of North America.
The county's largest city, Superior, is an international seaway port that welcomes both Great Lakes freighters and ocean vessels. The county is home to more than a dozen trucking firms and is served by four Class-I railroads, Interstate and four-lane highways, and major petroleum pipelines. Recent airport upgrades have expanded opportunities for airfreight and passenger service. Industrial park infrastructure is in place for development in communities served by reliable water, sewer, gas, electricity and telecommunications utilities.
For those in need of international resources, governmental services, or business support there is a well-developed regional network of individuals and organizations to provide information and offer assistance.
