  Superior

Superior, Wisconsin (2006 pop. est. 26,960) is the largest city in Douglas County. Together with its neighbor Duluth, Minnesota, it is home to the largest port on the Great Lakes and the largest seasonal port in the world. Superior’s location at the head of Lake Superior and direct connections to Interstate 35 and U.S. Highway 53 make it a transportation hub with multiple trucking, rail and pipeline options. This progressive community offers five industrial parks, three TIF districts and a revolving loan fund to encourage economic development.

Superior has an abundance of natural and educational opportunities that contribute to the city’s high quality of life. Its two post secondary educational institutions provide cultural events to the community and training and research services to local employers.
