The Minnesota Association of Professional County Economic Developers (MAPCED) mission is to promote "the role of counties in fostering economic growth, an expanded tax base, and to ehnance quality of life.

MAPCED fulfills this mission by developing a comprehensive legislative program that will be helpful to decision makers in the enactment and implementation of sound public policy regarding economic development.

The group also adopts position statements on job creation and tax policy discussion, conducts an information exchange and networking amongst its membership to promote coordination of programs and efficient use of resources and works to remove barriers from active participation in economic development.

MAPCED also works to educate others about the process of economic development and maintains an affiliation with the Association of Minnesota Counties to help achieve its mission.
