UMD Center for Economic Development provides free help with business plans, strategic planning, Internet marketing research, small business loans, financial ratio analysis, profitability, new product development and more for clients in Northeastern Minnesota.

The mission of the University of Minnesota Duluth Center for Economic Development is to support the growth, diversification, and stability of northeastern Minnesota's economy.

UMD Center for Economic Development has six (6) Small Business Development Centers that provide a wide array of services including business plan development, feasiblity analysis, market research, advertising/sales, financial analysis, loan packaging, strategic palnning and other business-related services. The regional center is in Duluth with satellite offices in Ely, International Falls, Grand Rapids, Hibbing and Virginia.
